Ringmaat

Bij de aanschaf van een ring is het belangrijk om aandacht te besteden aan de maat. Grofweg zijn er twee methoden om een ringmaat aan te geven: aan de hand van de binnendiameter van de ring of op basis van de omtrek van de ring. Elk merkt hanteert haar eigen systeem.

Een ringmaat wordt uitgedrukt in millimeters en is afhankelijk van de vorm, lengte en dikte van een vinger. De maat is volledig onafhankelijk van het geslacht van de drager. Om erachter te komen welke ring perfect om jouw vinger past, gebruik je als man dus dezelfde manier als die een vrouw gebruikt (en vice versa).

Ringmaat opmeten kan makkelijk met onze meet-tool of via volgende methode:

Methode 1: op basis van de diameter van een ring

Voor deze methode heb je enkel een perfect passende ring nodig. Om de ringmaat te meten, leg je de allereerst de ring die goed past plat op tafel. Pak vervolgens een meetlint of liniaal en meet de doorsnede van de ring (meet de rand dus niet mee). Het aantal millimeter van de doorsnede van de ring geeft je ringmaat aan. Voorbeeld: heeft de ring een doorsnede van 18 millimeter? Dan is jouw ringmaat 18.

Methode 2: op basis van de omtrek van je vinger

Indien je geen passende ring hebt kun je deze methode gebruiken om je ringmaat te bepalen. Hierbij heb je een touwtje en je vinger nodig. Wikkel het touwtje om je vinger, op de plek waar je uiteindelijk je ring wilt dragen. Zorg dat het touwtje aansluit, maar trek het vooral niet te strak. Zet een streepje waar het touwtje bij elkaar komt en knip het door waar de uiteinden elkaar precies overlappen. Meet de lengte van het touwtje op met een liniaal: het aantal milliliters geeft jouw ringmaat aan.
